I got that "I need a little something feeling ".....whoo....where did that come from?!
Since logging in my food has really worked for me, I had faced the snacking thing early on and had thought it was over with....evidently not!
Last season, Dick and I were "trying" to eat Weight Watchers, we weren't going to meetings, just counting points. Here's the kicker....while watching the show we would fix a Weight Watcher dessert and "add" things to it!! Like take a strawberry shortcake and add "low-fat ice cream", maybe more strawberries and of course some whipped cream!! Good grief!
"Wanted something" the whole show!! The good news is I didn't act on "it".....resisted and won the fight! I recognized the urge (it was strong and didn't want to leave), thought about it, but didn't connect the show with the feeling until this morning.
This is why we have to be aware the rest of our lives to stay on course to keep the weight off.
I need to give a shout out to my good friend Charlotte who has lost 9 pounds since logging in her food and counting calories. She's logging in her food at www.sparkpeople.com , great free web site. More importantly, Charlotte has made the connection of choices and how simple it all really is. At first it seems confusing and not at all clear, and then after logging in your food for a few weeks your own natural instinct kicks in. Your body wants good foods, when you start eating better, it says, "thanks!! You feel better, have more energy, fewer aches and pains and take years off. It's a win, win situation. Congrats Charlotte! You go girl!!
If you have tried to lose weight before and failed and have given up like I did.
There is HOPE!
You don't need a dime, I know you have a computer...go to www.livestrong.com (go to the daily plate) or www.sparkpeople.com just log in the food you eat already...don't make any changes right now, just get a handle on the calories you are eating in a regular day.
Then check out the fat, sodium, fiber, sugar, protein ( it's automatically tabulated for you) to see if you are getting enough or too much. Start buying low-fat yogurt, whole grain breads, lean meats, nuts, lots of fruits and vegetables. Try to start walking, even if it's 10 minutes one way and 10 minutes back...that would be great!! Before long you will feel the urge to do more, it comes naturally.
Junk food makes you feel bad...once in a while, not too bad..everyday...not good. Little by little, inch by inch, baby steps that all it takes, but you have to decide.....
I want a better life and I want it now!
2 Corinthians 12:9
9 "But He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness." Therefore, I will most gladly boast all the more about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may reside in me."

Great post Maree...isn't that funny how we associate eating a snack with watching a certain TV show. You did great!!! You know what I did, I watched the show in my bed upstairs, far away from the kitchen. I had my first weigh in today at my WW meeting, down 3.6 pounds...woohoo!!
Hugs,
LeAnn:)
That is awesome Leann!! My goodness what a great start!! You are on your way girl!
