Inspired By Julia...maybe Julie too...

What a fun, fun movie! When I was a child, My mom and I would watch Julia Child's show in awe....French cooking....wow. Mom was a very good cook, however, I don't remember her ever having Julia Child's cookbook or making any "French" dishes.

Until this movie...I'd never thought of it either.

That is going to change! Thanks Julie...not sure if this delightful movie with Julia Child in it would have ever been made if you hadn't started your blog about leaning to cook like Julia.

If you can do it...maybe I can too!

Since we started eating healthier, I've had to throw out most of my old standby meals and either recreate them or get new healthier recipes. I'm out of the box! So....

Great video about Julia Child's life done by the Food Network

Thanks to this fun, witty..(I love you Nora Ephron!!)...inspiring movie I'm going to try something new .... French Cooking.

Oh yeah, in the preview, Meryl has a new movie that looks like fun coming out, I think Christmas....called "It's Complicated". Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin are in it..Alec leaves Meryl for another women and then wants her back. Comedy/Romance...love em!

Maybe we should try French cooking too! Emeril's Hearty Man's Potato Casserole that we enjoyed last night was certainly not good for us. It went straight to my thighs!!

Hope you have a great week!

Can't wait to see this movie!! I always remember Julia Child from SNL when Dan Ackyroyd portrayed her -- so hilarious! Am trying to also eat healthier! Have a great week!

Hi Maree,

I used to watch Julia Child, too, and have her cook book, not that I did a lot of French cooking, but I enjoyed watching her. I saw the previews of the movie, and it looks like it's pretty good. Besides, Meryl Streep has never been in a bad movie. But I'm not sure I would consider French cooking all that healthy. It's quite rich, lots of butter and sauces, just like many other European cooking. However, it is delicious!

I've been out shopping today and my best friend and I took a long walk on the riverside trail, to walk off yesterdays big meal! :-)

Eek, it thundering out there. See you later.

I bet the movie It's Complicated is based on the 'relationship status' on facebook - there is one that says 'it's complicated. I updated my profile and put myself as single but didn't realize now all my friends get a message that Charlotte Jones Worthington is single!! Pastor Aaron said when he saw it he could hear "Ladies Night" playing in the background.

I have been wanting to see that movie. Maybe I will get to see it with my mom soon. Hope to be back in Dallas in a week or two. Daddy takes his last radiation treatment on Thursday. Have an awesome week. Blessings
