Savior, Please

Josh Wilson

Ephesians 2:8-9

For it is by grace you have been saved,

through faith

and this not from yourselves,

it is the gift of God—

not by works,

so that no one can boast.

These are mine.....

If your life is not what you want it to be....

If things are all messed up and you can't see a way out....
hold on and look up!

There was a time I was crippled by pain and thought my life was used up.

These are my hiking boots.....there is hope!

Psalm 121

I lift up my eyes to the hills—

where does my help come from?

My help comes from the LORD,

the Maker of heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot slip—

he who watches over you will not slumber;

indeed, he who watches over Israel

will neither slumber nor sleep.

The LORD watches over you—

the LORD is your shade at your right hand;

the sun will not harm you by day,

nor the moon by night.

The LORD will keep you from all harm—

he will watch over your life;

the LORD will watch over your coming and going

both now and forevermore

Garden Inspiration....

I know I should be posting a fall photo, I'm a garden dreamer...
some day I hope to have a beautiful garden again.
Gardens build hope.

This photo is from a website of one of my favorite garden centers to visit in Lexington, KY, Springhouse Gardens
. Richard Weber is the owner, he creates magic in the garden. Richard has a blog that is informative and fun to read too. Springhouse Gardens website is full of photographs and ideas for garden planning. Visit and began dreaming.....

I'm still trying to drive the point home....

I really identified with K.W. in the movie "Where the Wild Things Are". K.W. comes back into the fold and gets disgusted with all the Wild Things once again, especially Carol. At one point she lays on her back on the ground completely out of energy, asking herself, why do I bother? She really wants to do things differently. I get there myself from time to time ....exasperated

When Dick is really happy on the weekends he wants to eat junk. This past weekend Sonic called his name...chili-cheese tater tots. I associate Dick with Carol...child like and somewhat wild, albeit, lovable.

My point to him is...when you eat food like that, for some reason, it starts a chain reaction...chili-cheese tater tots, hot dogs, milkshakes and so on. Like lets see what can I eat next sorta thing.
If you start out the day with good food choices and end the day having made good food choices.... you feel good about yourself. This makes sense to me...I'm still trying to convince Carol, err, I mean Dick.

Where The Wild Things Are....Whoooooo

I knew Leah would "want to stay home" for this movie so I dragged Dick...he was NOT excited a bit about seeing a kid flick. As it usually goes, if he complains a lot about something, that means he will like it the most....
and he did.

Dick and I loved this movie...we climbed right into the screen and ran with those wild things! Their dialog reminded me so much of my childhood friends and I in the 50's/60's, running in the ditches and alleys of my neighborhood.... we were wild too. "Wit-a-woo, wit-a wooo"

Don't worry if you don't have any kids to go to this movie with...if you need a good escape... seeing "Where The Wild Things Are" is a way to go back to your childhood again and play a little. It was heartfelt.

Note: This is not a movie for very young children or those that are easily scared I wouldn't think. It's about a 9 year old boy. The wild things are children with feelings....each wild thing represented a different feeling. There were a lot of teenagers in the movie theater settled in to enjoy the ride..I'm sure they had loved the book. Bottom line, only you know what is best for your child....have them watch the trailers before you go.

I'd need a Savior

Among the Thristy

Jude 1: 24-25
To him
who is able to keep you from falling
and to present you
before his glorious presence
without fault
and with great joy—
to the only God our Savior
be glory,
majesty,
power
and authority,
through Jesus Christ our Lord,
before all ages, now and forevermore!
Amen.

Candy Corn and Peanuts...

Oh my gosh, is this a good combination!

Every Wednesday night we look forward to going to our small group meeting. Dick and I along with four other couples from our church meet at Deborah and Tom's gorgeous home overlooking the 16th green. Their home oozes with warmth and love....it's a soft place to land each week.

Tonight though, I learned a little something scary....

(thanks Deborah ;-).. a new found love,

candy corn and peanuts..

Silly good.

I can see myself now, counting out a serving of peanuts and a serving of candy corn. Totally worth it!

Hanging with my girls....

I'm a happy girl when my granddaughters come to spend the day! How many gramma's got to hang out in a playhouse yesterday ... ;-) Leah and Kate are all over the house playing, but spend the bulk of the day in the basement where their playroom is. We do lots of projects too on that little table you see in the background. Leah is sitting on the snack table engrossed in a cartoon.

(I'm thinking I may look a bit like Alice from Adventures in Wonderland ;-)

Leah's in her element here...Wilbur and a Sprite.

Gramme Re...."I'm your granddaughter aren't I?"

Oh, yes you are and I love you so much! ***hugs all around***

During the previews at the movies if Leah is not keen on one of them showing, she always leans over to me and says...

"we will stay home for that one, okay?"

One thing is for sure....Leah is growing up so quickly!

Kate loves that little phone, Leah did too. We called momma a lot!
She plays with everything....a busy girl, very independent!
If I do something the wrong way I always get a
"no, no Re-Re! from her to set me straight. ;-)
Kate loves her babies and takes very good care of them...she also helped me unload the dishwasher, even found some new places to store things, she's a doll!

That's a hot dog, french fries and ketchup, setting on my knees, served to me by Leah and Kate....they were extra special delicious! Pretend world is so much fun...and calorie free!

The old me would not have been capable of crawling into this playhouse. I was able to put in a full day with my girls and then go to the park and walk four miles. What more could a gramma want?

On Christ The Solid Rock I stand...

Jesus Christ...my solid rock

Interface

Matthew 7:24-25

"Therefore, everyone who hears

these words of Mine

and acts on them

will be like a sensible man who built his house on the rock.

The rain fell,

the rivers rose,

and the winds blew and pounded that house.

Yet it didn't collapse,

because its foundation

was on the rock.

I've Just Seen Jesus...

This song helped change my life well over 20 years ago. I was a busy mom of 3 and working as a real estate agent. A huge deal I'd worked on for over a year fell apart and so did I.... landed on the couch and literally cried for three days. Toward the very end of those three days, while watching a christian TV show, an evangelist pointed to the screen and said to me, "Jesus loves you, He really, really does!" Those words shot through me like a knife. I jumped up off that couch and landed on my knees asking God to change me, heal me and I asked Him to use me for His purpose.

In order for God to "use me", He had to help me get rid of the baggage I had been carrying around....anger, hurt, pain, shame. This song was hugely popular then. I'd pop it in the tape player and stop it right after Larnelle and Sandi sang "All I've ever done before won't matter anymore" and replay it....maybe 20 times each session until finally, finally the healing of my hurting soul began. .

Jesus loves you, He really, really does!

Psalm 62 5-6

Find rest, O my soul, in God alone;

my hope comes from him.

He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress,

I will not be shaken

St James Art Fair 2009....

This is one of those shots where you get the stranger to take it...
we thought she did a really good job!
Jack was already taking in the sights.
We had the best time this year with Rachel, Rich and Jack.
They made the St James Art Show 2009 extra special.

Oh the smells!

Glass Jewelry...she's from Signal Mountain, TN.

These guys had a sense of humor...they were selling foot long hot dogs..

Lunch...yum! A friend of a friends booth. The crab cakes were delish!

Jack is the best baby and hung out like a pro at the Art Fair.

He's 3 1/2 months and is the happiest little guy....

he's rolling over and cutting his first tooth already.
Pop and I had the best time this weekend with
Jack and his mommy and daddy.....
whom he absolutely adores.
He knows when his folks enter a room....radar!

Look at those sweet dimples in his little arms..love them!
I believe he has his mothers eyes...

but we believe this photo shows a similarity between Jack and Pop-Pop....;-)

We had the very best weekend

Spending time with our family is pure joy!

You guys are the best and we love you all so very much!
