One of our "old life" favorite things was to head on over to Steak n' Shake or Chick-fil-A and get a milkshake.
After finding out how many calories were in those dearly loved concoctions we had to make a change.
Steak N' Shakes large vanilla shake....897 calories
regular vanilla shake....717 calories
Chick-fil-A vanilla shake....660 calories
Anything with the word shake attached to it was pretty much bad news after we started counting calories.
We are only human and our need of shakes was great, so....we started making them at home the healthy way.
2 cups Breyers Vanilla Double Churned Light- 400 calories
1/2 cup l % milk- 50 calories
1 small banana- 90 calories
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
Combine in a blender and mix until all ingredients are combined
Divide equally into 2 of your funnest, coolest glasses, add a straw
Sit back relax, enjoy slowly in no-quilt heaven!!
270 calories each....yum!
Another switch we made at Graeters was not ordering anything we felt like. If we go now, we get the child's portion....no one blinks an eye, the size is perfect, about 240 calories. No guilt!
